Standalone Application
This dedicated workspace for Discovery admins provides a comprehensive overview of Discovery schedules, complete with diagnostic capabilities and essential administration tasks. It also helps track and manage the status of application suggestions and enables participation in a content service that crowdsources suggestions for application fingerprinting and OIDs.
Home
- A launch pad that provides a quick overview of Discovery along with access to critical ITOM Visibility apps.
Schedules - Overview - Displays trends for Discovery schedules by location, total schedules, and completed vs. canceled Discovery statuses over time for Configuration Items (CI).
- Discovery schedules - Displays a list of CI Discovery schedules and details.
- Discovery status - Displays a list of CI Discovery statuses and details.
Diagnostics - Anomaly detection - A new tab that displays all of the Discovery schedules with anomalies detected in the last x days. This time scale can be configured on the Settings page. This tab only displays when anomaly detection is enabled.
- Diagnostics - A modern UI featuring a list of Discovery and other ITOM errors, updated from the legacy Discovery Home.
- Case management - A UI to manage tasks and solve Discovery errors in Kanban view or list view.
- Support tools - A shortcut to the currently available support tools, now with CAPI to patterns, Probes to pattern migration, Detect frequently discovered CIs, Pattern customization check, IRE payload explorer, Discovery customization report, Skipped files from store updates (admin only), Command validation task, Missing SNMP OID data, SaCmdManager, Missing IPs in schedules, and Retrieve Logs.
- Logs - A view of Discovery logs, currently including ECC Queue and Discovery Logs.
- Ignored errors - A list of ignored errors and actions taken on them.
- Virtual Agent - A chatbot that retrieves logs and runs MID Server and Discovery diagnostics.
Content 360
- AI-assisted application fingerprints: Machine learning (ML) clustering that performs cluster analysis on running process estate and recommends unique fingerprints, enabling you to create application CIs with a single click.
- ITOM Content Service: Crowdsource clustered running process data from customer instances with opt-in. AI librarians curate application classifiers and SNMP OID content weekly and distribute them to all customer instances.
- SAM integration outcome: Create installed software data using process fingerprints.
Insights
- A one-stop shop for reports: MID Server, Oracle GLAS Data Collection, Kubernetes Explorer, Nutanix Dashboard, Agent Health Dashboard, Missing compute resources from Discovery, Shazzam Insights (requires Xanadu), and Virtual Machine Explorer.
Tuning
- Tuning Home - A health score and failed tuning checks, categorized by priority, category, and suite.
- Checks - A list of instance checks across Discovery, MID, and self-monitoring suites.
Settings
- Discovery properties - Enables you to customize and manage high-level Discovery properties so they’re tailored to meet your specific needs.
- Discovery notifications using Microsoft Teams - Enables you to receive discovery notifications via MS Teams and email for critical anomalies, MID Server or cluster down events, and auto-created IP Address Management (IPAM) schedules.
- IPAM Discovery Integration - Automatically synchronizes IPAM network data into Discovery schedules. Manages IPv4 and IPv6 subnets and IP addresses by creating and updating Discovery schedules, cleaning up obsolete records, and grouping data into schedules.
IPAM Discovery integration
New
- Discovery now integrates with IP Address Management (IPAM) systems to automate network discovery across both IPv4 and IPv6 address spaces. This integration enables Discovery to query IPAM for network data and automatically generates accurate, up-to-date Discovery schedules with minimal manual effort. The following capabilities outline how Discovery uses IPAM data to automate schedule creation, maintain network accuracy, and streamline ongoing management:
- Automated synchronization of IPAM network data (networks, subnets, and IP addresses) into Discovery schedules
- Automated schedule creation and reuse based on IPAM infrastructure
- Support for both IPv4 and IPv6 address families with independent configuration limits
- Automatic organization of schedules by tag fetched by IPAM connectors (cmdb_key_value)
- Automatic cleanup of obsolete IP addresses and subnets no longer present in IPAM
- Detection and disabling of empty schedules to prevent unnecessary discovery runs
Discovery notifications
New
- Discovery notifications enable administrators to receive real-time notifications or daily summaries about Discovery updates through Microsoft Teams and email, directly from Discovery Admin Workspace.
Additional cloud providers
New
- Discovery Admin Workspace has expanded its cloud coverage, enabling you to create Discovery schedules for the following six cloud providers: Alibaba, IBM, OCI, OpenStack, oVirt, and VMware. This update advances the integration of cloud discovery capabilities into a unified workspace, reducing operational complexity and aligning with the upcoming deprecation of Cloud Discovery Workspace.
Tag Governance Insights dashboard
New
- The Tag Governance Insights dashboard is now accessible from the Insights page in the Discovery Admin Workspace. This dashboard displays metrics like tag policy coverage, compliance status, and usage trends. Access to this dashboard requires Tag Governance v1.9.0.
