ServiceNow Operational Sustainability Management helps organizations manage, visualize, and report on sustainability efforts and risks across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programs. By streamlining data collection, organization, and storage in a single system, the application simplifies sustainability management. It also automates dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders and supports disclosure requirements aligned with leading sustainability standards and frameworks, including CSRD/ESRS, GRI, SASB, UN SDGs, TCFD, and SustainableIT.org.
Operationalizing sustainability across the enterprise
ServiceNow Operational Sustainability Management enables organizations to operationalize sustainability across the enterprise by using the platform's workflow and automation capabilities. Functional owners gain access to enterprise data, analytics, and insights, enabling them to participate actively in sustainability programs. This allows core teams to focus on program execution, compliance, and reporting while fostering organizational engagement and supporting sustainability objectives.
Seamless user experience
The application provides a streamlined user experience for collecting data from internal stakeholders, tracking metric collection activities, and monitoring goals through dedicated dashboards. It also supports report and disclosure generation through multiple channels. Reports can be generated directly from Operational Sustainability Management in .xls format or through the Microsoft 365 integration, which enables users to embed and format metric data in Microsoft Word documents. This integration helps ensure reports include current sustainability data.
Pre-configured content packs
Content packs are available with sustainability metrics aligned to GRI (505), TCFD (55), SASB (338), and the UN SDGs (400), as well as sector-specific metric definitions for TCFD and SASB. CSRD/ESRS and SustainableIT.org frameworks are also available through the Content Accelerator.
Robust workflow platform
Built on the ServiceNow AI Platform, Operational Sustainability Management provides workflow capabilities that help ensure sustainability processes are traceable and auditable. Transactions, including metric data tasks, maintain an audit trail, with changes and approvals stored on the associated metric data records. Organizations can combine data from ServiceNow applications and other connected data sources to support sustainability reporting, assurance activities, and decision-making.
