Interact with your organization's inventory of APIs regardless of the source or silo'd technology you previously did not have access to, and see how they are used across ServiceNow workflows. The inventory of APIs exposed in API Insights is based on CMDB data, primarily the API and API Component classes.
- API inventory derived from prebuilt integrations or customer-populated CMDB data.
- Normalized interactions with API data, regardless of the source.
- Configurable workflow for granting or rejecting API access requests.
- Role-based access control for API data.
- Ability to take corrective action on missing attributes or relationships, such as the business context of an API.
- Detailed views of APIs and their related resources, including relationship maps.
- Ability to import ServiceNow APIs into the CMDB to manage them alongside other enterprise APIs.
- Ability to import OpenAPI specifications and link them to operational CIs found in runtime technologies (gateways, vulnerability scanners, etc), and validate the specifications based your organization's rules.
New:
- Tag-based relationship mapping to automatically establish relationships between APIs and other supported CIs using tags.
Changed:
- Refined Settings page experience, providing a consolidated view where all configuration options are accessible in one place.
- Improved click-through paths and navigation from API detail widgets to the appropriate workspace, and added new related lists for API tags and API products.
- Enhanced API details tree in the Overview panel of the API details page with clearer type-based segregation for easier exploration.
