Standalone Application
The App Shell Utils plugin is a common repository for all appshells including:
- Portal appshell (common content)
- Workspace appshell (common content)
- Breadcrumb appshell (common content)
- Defines navigation pattern for the experience
- Uses tabs to show records and information
- Show sub-tabs within the main tab to view contextual information
Migration Changes
1. Portal App Shell
The Portal App currently contains two macroponents:
- Family Release (existing)
- sys_id: b66bf1075b31101016fd7c1bf481c7a7
- Plugin: com.snc.app_shell_portal
- Store Release (new – planned for Q1 2026)
- sys_id: 1e3d29d9ff9c321033b2ffffffffffa2
- Plugin: com.snc.app_shell_aw_store
Impact:
- Existing customers who have already built their pages using the older Portal App Shell will continue to reference the Family release macroponent.
- New customers will automatically reference the Store release macroponent (1e3d29d9ff9c321033b2ffffffffffa2), which will be part of the com.snc.app_shell_aw_store plugin moving forward.
Action Required:
- Customers who are still using the older Portal App Shell will need to migrate to the new Portal App Shell to receive any of the upcoming enhancements and features we are developing. The latest changes will only be available in the new App Shell.
2. App COE Components
As part of this migration, the App COE Components scope and plugin name will be updated as follows in the Q1 release:
- Old scope name: app_coe_components
- New scope name: sn_shell_utils
- Old plugin name: com.app_coe_components
- New plugin name: com.sn_shell_utils
Action Required:
- Starting from the Q1 release (to be trued up to the Australia Family release), please update any references to app_coe_components with sn_shell_utils across your applications and test suites.
