FastPass Identity Verification Manager (IVM) secures ServiceNow by verifying user identity before access is granted, passwords are reset, or sensitive information is shared.
FastPass IVM automatically verifies users when they contact the ServiceNow help desk or request sensitive actions through ServiceNow workflows. Verification is enforced before the process continues, reducing the risk of social engineering, account takeover, and unauthorized access.
Verification is risk-based, role-based, and request-aware. Different verification methods are applied depending on the user’s role, the type of request, and the sensitivity of the action. All verification rules and tests are defined and controlled by the security or identity team.
Common verification use cases include:
-
Password resets
-
Temporary access pass issuance
-
Access rights changes
-
Sharing of confidential or regulated information
Weak user identification is a major business risk. Social engineering attacks targeting service desks are a common entry point for data breaches and insider threats. Many large organizations have been impacted by these attacks, including campaigns linked to groups such as Scattered Spider.
FastPass IVM integrates natively with ServiceNow and is designed for fast implementation. The solution can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud using FastPass Cloud. Most customers start by protecting 3–4 critical security groups and gradually refine verification policies as experience grows.
FastPass supports verification using standard MFA providers such as Microsoft, Okta, Duo, and Google Authenticator. It also supports SAML-based integrations with external verification services.
Verification data can be sourced from ServiceNow, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, HR systems, and other operational systems. By automatically combining MFA signals with authoritative data sources, FastPass IVM often verifies users significantly faster than native manual processes, reducing service desk effort while improving security.
Identity verification built for ServiceNow workflows
FastPass IVM verifies user identity directly inside ServiceNow. No context switching, no external portals, and no custom scripting. Agents and users stay in the flow while identity is verified securely.
Secure user verification for service requests and support
Verify users before granting access, resetting credentials, or handling sensitive requests. FastPass IVM reduces social-engineering risk and supports zero-trust service desk operations.
Flexible verification methods
Support multiple verification factors and policies depending on risk level, user type, or request category. Apply stronger verification where it matters—without slowing down routine requests.
Automated decisioning and audit trail
Verification results are logged automatically in the ServiceNow record. This creates a clear audit trail for compliance, security reviews, and internal controls—no manual notes required.
Fast deployment, no heavy customization
Install from the ServiceNow Store and configure using standard ServiceNow tools. FastPass IVM works with out-of-the-box workflows and minimizes maintenance over time.
Enterprise-grade security and scalability
Designed for large service organizations handling high volumes of identity-sensitive requests. FastPass IVM scales without degrading agent or user experience.
This release includes minor code refinements and small internal improvements.
There are no special system requirements for this ServiceNow app beyond a standard ServiceNow instance configuration. The app integrates with out-of-the-box processes and can be used with Incidents, Interactions, and Service Requests.
