Business impact analysis (BIA) is a structured process to prioritize critical business functions and identify key dependencies on IT, facilities, personnel, and other assets.
BIA outcomes include:

- Quantify the impact of disruptions to set recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).

**New**Group ownership for BCM records is now supported - Customers can assign a group of users as owners for Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), Plans, and Event records in the BCM application.Collaborator synchronization for BIAs using Smart Assessment templates. When a BIA is created from a Smart Assessment template, the group owners and contributor list are automatically sync to Smart Assessment (SAE) instance. The Owner group manager will map to the SAE assessment owner(BIA owner will sync as assessment owner if exist), and other group members , contributors added to SAE collaborators.
**Changed**• **Contributor synchronization from BIAs to Smart Assessment instances has been enhanced.** When the BIA contributor list changes, the SAE collaborator list is updated to match, excluding the owner.
**Fixed**• SAE customer-reported issues have been resolved. Synchronization from BIA owner and contributors to SAE collaborators now works as expected, including proper handling of contributor overlap and group changes.
